This blog is about two ad creations: one original but one different, with one thing in common. They all have to do with duct tape. People have hobbies, right? Of course, it’s not just adults. It’s kids as well, including teenagers. Have you heard anyone tell you that you need a new hobby? Well, here is an idea for a new hobby to have.

Original Ad
This is the original ad of my subject. The original is a magazine from the Leisure Arts, and it was written by Patti Wallenfang.

In the original ad, for the front cover, the photographer used three different pictures of what audiences like you and me can do with duct tape. Some people use duct tape to make wallets, purses, clothes, etc.

Also in the original ad, they used pictures of two strips of silver duct tape, particularly with the original Duck Brand Duct Tape, to show the audience what exactly they are talking about.

The text the original design has a fairly amount of two different colors. They used three sets for black and two sets for white. Plus, they looked like they used a normal typography type for the text and bolded them so they can grab the readers’ attention.
New Ad Creation — Same Product

This new ad creation was made by me, with a little bit of help. Even though it’s different from the original ad, as I mentioned earlier, it still has something in common with the original ad. Both of them have something to do with duct tape, and that means it’s still about the same product and the same idea for crafts you can make with duct tape.

This draw-over is around a similar phrase you found in the original ad. Same wording, and same duck brand duck logo.

This one, however, is not in the original ad. Have you all heard the tagline “Get the duck to do it”? Well, I’ve made a similar phrase, except, I used my own wording for it.

In this ad creation, I have added four to five pictures instead of just having three, just so I can give the audience ideas that are more things they can make out of duct tape, like tote bags, flowers, jewelry, etc.

The typography from these two sets of texts are a little bit similar to the original, with the black color and the bolded phase, but the typography setting was more of a Caslon Pro.
Conclusion
In conclusion, duct tape isn’t just for repairs. They can be for arts and crafts. Duct tape arts and crafts is not only for kids’ camp activities. They can be for any activity, whether it’s a home activity or a Church activity. I had a Church activity when I was a freshman in high school making these kinds of duct tape crafts. They had purses, scripture totes, and wallets. I was learning to make a wallet at the time, and I had loved it since. Of course, I had to do a lot of practicing, but I have now gotten pretty good of making wallets out of duct tape. I wish I could show a picture of the ones I had made.
